Privacy Policy
Landrover GAP collects no personal information. The app has no server of its own, no account and no sign-in, and it makes no network requests. This policy is short because there is very little to describe — but it describes all of it, including the one place on this website where you can choose to send us something.
What the app does
Landrover GAP connects over Bluetooth to a GAP Diagnostic IIDTool BT plugged into your vehicle's OBD port, reads live parameter values from the vehicle's own modules, and displays them as gauges on dashboard screens you arrange yourself.
Where that happens
- All decoding and display happens on your device. Nothing read from your vehicle leaves the phone.
- The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and collects no advertising or device identifiers.
- The app makes no network requests of its own, so there are no server logs of your use of it.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth is used solely to find and talk to your diagnostic tool. The app does not scan for, catalogue or report other nearby devices, and the identifier of the tool you pair with is stored on your device only, so it can reconnect automatically next time.
Location
Location access is optional and is used only to supply three gauges — GPS speed, altitude and compass heading — and to measure trip distance. Your position is used on the device as it arrives and is never transmitted, and no location history or track log is recorded. Decline the permission and the rest of the app works normally; only those gauges stay empty.
What is stored on your device
- Your dashboard screens and which gauges you pinned to them.
- Your settings — units, tyre-pressure unit, appearance, alert preferences, and whether demo data is on.
- The identifier of your tool, so it can reconnect.
- Results of any Deep Scan you run — the list of parameters your vehicle answered — so those gauges stay available.
- Recent readings, kept in memory for the one-hour history and peak-hold markers, plus a small snapshot shared with the home-screen widget.
None of it is transmitted anywhere. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.
Vehicle data
Readings from your vehicle — including its identification number, if a module reports one — are displayed and stored only on your device. They are not uploaded, not shared, and not used for any purpose beyond showing them to you.
This website's support form
The support form on this site is the only place we can receive anything from you, and only if you choose to use it. What you type into it — your message, and the name and email address you optionally supply — is sent to our app support team by email and used only to answer you. It is not added to a mailing list, not used for marketing, and not passed to anyone else. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, request time, user agent) for security and operations; these are rotated and deleted routinely.
Data retention and deletion
Because the app stores nothing off your device and sends nothing, there is no stored data associated with your use of it to delete. Uninstalling the app removes everything it saved. If you have written to us through the support form and want that correspondence deleted, ask through the same form and we will remove it within 30 days.
Children
Landrover GAP is a vehicle tool and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
